Painted steel coils are manufactured through a continuous coil coating process that comprises cleaning, pre-treating, painting, and curing.
Generally, the coils are painted with two-coat paint systems—first goes the primer, then a color coating is applied on the side meant for exterior exposure, whereas the reverse side receives a topcoat. Though cumbersome, the system results in the formation of uniform and aesthetically pleasing coils, and in turn, steel. Painted steel coils are highly customizable. You can choose from several options like the metallic coating thickness, the types of top-coatings (acrylics, polyesters, silicone-polyesters, etc.), color, and treatments and primers.
Painted coils applications involve metal roofing, heating, and air conditioning parts, school buses, appliances, consumer electronics, garage doors, truck trailers, lighting fixtures, etc.
